Plantation Nepal

Nursery Establishment

A forest nursery is a designated area where plants are cultivated for eventual planting. This includes plants for grass, timber, fruit, and agroforestry needs. Selecting a suitable location for the nursery is crucial for producing healthy plants.

To establish a nursery structure, we conduct a preliminary survey of the socio-economic and material conditions in the proposed area. We consult with local communities, local governing bodies, community forest user groups, and other relevant stakeholders, considering the available local resources and the objectives of our organization. Before identifying a site for the forest nursery, we assess the interests of the local population. If the proposed area is deemed suitable, we establish a temporary forest nursery.

In our established nursery, we primarily produce seedlings of forest tree species, grass species, ornamental plants, and fruit varieties. With the help of local communities, we restore forest areas using native species, beetroot planting, seed bombs, cuttings, and direct seeding. We also create employment opportunities within local nurseries and provide essential training in nursery management.

Additionally, we offer other job opportunities, such as filling polypots, constructing nursery beds, and planting trees. Our main priority is to provide employment opportunities to individuals living in extreme poverty and from underprivileged groups.
